The Stakes have brought new soul to Phoenix's live music scene—no longer is the nation's 6th largest metropolis devoid of the creative union of urban and art musics typical of hubs like New York, Chicago, or Philly. Whether at underground hip-hop jams or concert mashups, this culture thrives in The Stakes' eclectic brand of live hip-hop rooted in an infectious groove sure to keep your head nodding and feet moving as it resonates through your body and soul. Fronted by MCs, Lord Kash & ZeeDubb, backed by Ben Scolaro on keys, Kevin Phillips on drums & Alex Meltzer on bass, the core of this group holds down a heavy groove with no intention to following the norms of pop culture, and taking full advantage of the diverse talent in Arizona, The Stakes collaborate with many musicians, MCs and notable vocalists such as Holly Pyle, who's a lead vocalist on The Stakes Music Volume 1 EP.
2016 was a big year for alternative/pop/rock quartet Fairy Bones. Touted by the press for their debut album, they then went on a short hiatus to record – only to return to debut their new material and sound as direct support for thrice Grammy-nominated trio Highly Suspect on their west coast tour.

After being named “Best Local Band” of 2015 by Phoenix New Times, the group of colorful misfits has been lighting up the stage as support for KONGOS, St Lucia, Mother Mother, Marcy Playground, Fuel, Alien Ant Farm, and Kyle Gass Band. Paste declared Fairy Bones a “four-piece art/glam/rock monster” while praising lead singer Chelsey Louise’s “incomparable pipes,” which they noted, “Few rock voices today can compare, of any gender.”

Imagine epic, dramatic alternative-pop songs sent out to the back rows of a stadium by a charismatic force of nature who could more than hold her own against whatever Florence Welch could throw her way, sharing space on a stunning debut with songs that filter lofty art-rock sensibilities through the reckless abandon of punk.

That was “Dramabot,” the debut album with which Fairy Bones confirmed their standing on the front ranks of the Phoenix music scene. Together with Bob Hoag (The Format, Scary Kids Scaring Kids), tucked away at the infamous Flying Blanket Studio, Fairy Bones managed to craft an album that surpassed all of their wildest expectations.

They are now coming back into the proverbial spotlight with the release of their single “No One Can Suffer Like I Can” and giving fans a taste of what to expect in 2018 with their sophomore album, “0% Fun.”
In summer of 2011, Joey and Lucas began concocting music recipes and an interest was soon taken in their good friend Rocky's drum style. After writing a series of songs that blended influences from the likes of bands such as Radiohead, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Incubus, the Voodoo was born. This determined band has been delivering vehement performances in the Phoenix valley-metro area since early 2013. Sunset Voodoo is a young and energetic surge in today's dynamic music culture. Enjoy!
